We hope all our players, coaches and families fared well during Hurricane Milton. While we were spared the worst part of the storm, we know that there was a lot of wind in our area leading to gutter, soffit and fencing damage along with other issues. I hope you all have power or are soon to be getting it.
The Board of Directors had a meeting the evening of 10/13 to discuss what moving forward looks like for the Fall 2024 Recreational Soccer season and on 10/14 one of our Board members will be meeting with the City to get an idea of what they are planning for Narramore. We are expecting is that the complex will be opened once schools are reopened. Assuming the City reopens the fields when we suspect, here’s what we’ve come up with:
What we will be doing is adjusting the regular season games to start this Saturday (10/16) and playing games through 11/23, with 11/23 being a double header weekend. This will allow us to ensure that the kids are able to get in the 7 games that were initially scheduled. The games that were scheduled for 10/05 and 10/12 will be the games that are rescheduled for the double header. We will then move our end of season tournament/jamboree for the week of 12/2 – 12/7. We will be using field #1, once it reopens, for the doubleheader as well as the tournament to keep games ending as early in the day as possible.
We all understand that the weather has not been kind to us this season, which is why we discussed it as a potential issue at my parents and coaches’ meetings along with the info sent out after those meetings. Just like you all, we are parents first and foremost and I want my kids on the fields ASAP. Those of you like us, that have been here for years, know that this season's weather has been more extreme than any other season we’ve had in the past, but we can assure you all that we are committed to having a great season in spite of the setbacks that Mother Nature has thrown our way.
We appreciate each and every one of our players, families and coaches and look forward to seeing you all back on the fields as soon as we can.
